They've spent an impressive amount of time gathering the good instruction, the honest tips, and the hard-won fixes usually scattered across dead forums, out-of-print books, and people who took their knowledge to the grave. Don't feel bad for us, we did this to ourselves. We try to be useful. Worst case, at least we're funny.

This site exists for one plain reason: phones are quietly killing us, an hour at a time. The people behind Ms Inkle would like a word before they finish the job. They built this to put something back into your hands, to bring back the making and mending your phone has been slowly draining away. Learn a craft here and you win some of those hours back, spent on something that will outlast the battery. Probably you too.
We're not interested in trends; we're after crafts that outlive our existence. A book bound well in 1850 still opens sweetly today. A natural dye fixed with care holds its colour for decades, not one wash. A woven cloth made with attention outlives the person who made it, and rarely complains about it after. The point is: let's make something that we can likely take to our graves for the love of it.
A confession, and something close to a motto: you'll probably procrastinate on the actual craft. Ms Inkle forgives you, because at the very least the team left you a fun read instead of another dry step-by-step to feel guilty about. And a second confession: someone on this team once dyed an entire load of laundry accidentally. It's fine. It's a design choice now.
